Akte Mord: Das Ende der Jugend

Plauen, 1996: The death of 16-year-old high school student Nicole Brandt shocks the people of the Vogtland region. A passerby finds the young woman’s body in an old industrial wasteland. The criminal investigation unit initially explores all leads, questioning friends and relatives, and does not rule out the possibility of a random crime in which Nicole was merely a chance victim.

When a serial offender is arrested two years later, he becomes the focus of the homicide division. However, the officers are unable to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he committed the crime. The investigation comes to a dead end, and the Nicole Brandt case is closed as unsolved—it becomes a cold case.
