Kudlak is the second standalone game in the Krsnik Stories series, following Jure Grando: The First Vampire. Set a few years later in 17th-century Pazin, Istria, it is a cooperative folk-horror game for 1–4 players.
During the Day, players move around Pazin, interact with its people, investigate whether Kudlak is hiding among them, gather items, and prepare the town for the coming night.
Time is limited, and every action spent investigating is an action not spent preparing. At night, movement is restricted to the paths through Pazin. Kudlak hunts, frightened NPCs may panic, and the barriers, barricades, and other preparations made during the day can be used to protect the people and control Kudlak's movement.
If a player character is killed, the player takes control of a surviving NPC and continues playing.
Players win by completing the Ritual and banishing Kudlak. If no NPCs remain, Kudlak wins.
