One Thousand Rats Devour a City

One Thousand Rats Devour a City is a roleplaying game-boardgame hybrid for 1–4 players about a colony of rats conquering a Victorian Gothic city. Take on the role of your own alpha rat and work with your kin to grow your colony, expand your territory, and drive out humanity from the city.

Play is broken down into rounds comprising 3 steps: Event, Action, and Colony. During the event step, you will draw a card to see how the city reacts to your deadly colony, and potentially trigger previously drawn event cards. In the action step, you will send your swarms of rats and your horde of alpha rats on missions to sabotage the city, consume locations, pilfer resources, and thwart threats. Finally, in the colony step, you will gain resources from the territories your colony controls and make sure all your rats are fed before starting a new round.

To win the game, you must capture points of interest in the city before your colony collapses due to a lack of resources or threats from the city an opposing factions.
