In Fifty Shells, players walk along a beach collecting beautiful numbered seashells to add to their personal collections. The shells are arranged in stacks across the beach board, and each player takes turns selecting and moving shells in an effort to create valuable sequences.
On your turn, choose the top shell from a column and move it horizontally or vertically exactly as many spaces as indicated by its tens digit. You may move over empty spaces, but must complete the full movement and cannot pass over the same shell twice. You then collect the shell you moved and the top shell at the end of its movement. If none of your available shells can make a legal move, you may instead collect any two shells from the board.
As you collect shells, consecutive numbers can be strung together to form pearls. Each connection between consecutive shells scores a pearl, with the sequence able to wrap from 59 back to 10. The game ends when only two shells remain on the board. Players count the pearls in their strings, and the player with the most pearls wins. If tied, the player with the longest string wins; if the tie remains, the victory is shared.
